Trash to Treasure

As you may have figured out, I like to reuse things as much as possible.  Between saving money and the earth, it just makes sense to me.  I have no problem taking something from the side of the road that has a FREE sign on it and making it my own with a little TLC.

We have been very fortunate on coming across some great finds lately, revamping them and making them look like new.  All you need is some time, a good wire brush and some spray paint to make this happen for most furniture.

Below, you can see the difference a little paint made on a set of chairs we bought for $10 and a table we found with a FREE sign on it while on a drive.

Another great find I had was an entire patio set.  The chairs and table needed a good wire brushing, some new rust proof paint (spray paint that can be purchased at any hardware store) and some new cushions.  I was even able to find all the cushions needed on clearance for a total of $40.

I encourage you to get out there to those garage sales, Goodwill, the Salvation Army and keep your eyes peeled for those treasures on the side of the road! You never know what you may find!

Stay tuned for my upcoming post on making your own table and bar out of pallets!  Talk about trash to treasure!
